Feeling it right now. What you ask? Well not really even sure myself. Overwhelmed by the mundane maybe? Spending hours every day doing things that I know I’ll only have to do again tomorrow. Dizzy from running around in the car dropping people off, picking people up and waiting in the middle. Who knows. Probably just the million different things that make up the life of a mum in the western world.
One thing I do know is that when I start to feel like this the best thing to do is take a step back. To remind myself to be grateful for all I have. To make some space in my life for reflection. And to just let all those things be for a while. Read a book, take a walk and reconnect with what is really important. Because I’m confident that when I look back on my life in twenty years from now skipping non-essential housework and choosing to look after my soul for the day is going to look like a wise move – not a lazy one.
What’s your plan for when life starts wearing you down?
