February, it’s the month of lurrve!   And to help celebrate this love-ly time of the year I’m saying  ’all systems go’  to a brand new Best of the Bunch Review & Giveaway.   I’ve selected seven products from those I’ve been sent to review over the past few months and, along with the companies involved, I’m giving you a chance to win them.  It’s simple really, just read through the reviews  and choose a favourite before heading down to the bottom of the page to enter the giveaway.  Leave a comment telling me which one you like the most and why you’d like to win it to be in the running.   After reading all of the answers I’ll email the seven winners in early March.  Could it be any easier?  Okay, let’s get started:    (PS: If have products you’d like consider for a Best of the Bunch review please email me with some details.)

Need a seriously fun way to exercise but don’t want to head off to the gym for classes?  Well the Zumba Fitness new release CORE might fit the bill.  We got sent a copy to review a few weeks ago and I have to say both myself and the kids have been loving it.  There has been A LOT of giggling as we’ve been jiggling and wiggling our ways around the lounge room in time to the funky music (did I just say ‘in time’….. I think perhaps I meant ‘out of time‘!)  But more importantly I’ve been getting some great extra exercise on the days I’m not doing my 30 minutes of run/walking.  Fun exercise - that’s priceless in anyones book.   Because it’s essentially a game you score points/stars as you’re dancing – giving you a little extra motivation to keep moving.  The music seriously is funky and it has 40 different songs/routines.    The game also comes with a special belt for the Wii remote – which sure beats trying to keep it in your pocket or hold onto it.    For more information about Zumba Fitness you can visit the  Zumba Fitness Games page or you could  head off to Big W or JB Hi Fi. to purchase your own copy.  {Giveway = one copy for either WII or Xbox (your choice) valued at $39.95}

Weet-Bix are wonderful!  What child in Australia didn’t grow up eating them? (Cue music: Aussie Kids….Are Weet-Bix Kids.)  Okay, yes you’re right, I’m sure there were a couple hidden away somewhere – but I honestly can’t remember a time when I haven’t had some in my pantry.    Over the past few months I’ve been lucky enough to be involved in a few blogger events for Weet-Bix and recently posted a recipe for an amazingly yummy and easy No Bake Weet-Bix slice (along with a few other crazy ideas about things you can do with Weet-Bix.)  I’ve made the slice countless times and my girls still love it just as much as the first time we made it.  I wonder how many boxes of Weet-Bix I have actually bought in my life time?    This month Weet-Bix have come on board with the Best of the Bunch giveaway to the tune of a years supply for one lucky reader.    That’s breakfast sown up for the next 365 days!    {Giveway = boxes to the value of $48.00}

 A few month back we received a little surprise parcel in the mail from Neutrogena containing their wet skin sunscreen for kids and adults.  Nothing like a surprise parcel to brighten your day hey!  Over the summer school holiday we finally had a good chance to check out how well this works –  while we camped at the beach.  (Yes, camping at the beach was amazing thanks.)

What I like best about this sunscreen is how easy it is to put on the kids.   It sprays on and you simply rub it in.    Makes life so much easier when you can just spray those wriggling arms and legs.  I think it halved the amount of time it took to get through the morning sunscreen routine.   But that is not what is supposed to be the big feature with this, rather it’s the fact that it’s designed to be applied onto wet skin – making reapplication much easier when you’re swimming all day.   We tried out  both the kids and adults versions and it was a thumbs up for them both.  No sunburn to report for the entire holiday despite countless hours spent at the beach.  That makes me one happy mummy.   {Giveaway = one adult and one kids sunscreen valued at $29.90)

I may have mentioned before that I have a slight stationery addiction.  Love. The. Stuff.   So when I got sent a DYMO LetraTag to review there may well have been a little happy dance of joy going on in my lounge room. This thing is so cute, practical and easy to use.   Obviously (for those of you who don’t live and breathe stationery) it makes labels.   Labels for books, clothing, files, pens, lunch-boxes, children – whatever really.   You can change fonts and sizes and even insert cute little images.  The tapes are available in different colours and there is even one suitable for ironing on clothing.  At a RRP of $59.00   this machine is  pure brilliance for any mum – stationery mad or not!    When I think of the time, energy and money I have spent over the years labelling things for the kids –  I know this idea is a winner.  Not to mention the savings from not losing stuff, because well labelled things usually do make their way home.  (If you’re really clever you’ll realise this is my second Dymo giveaway – I love  it so much I decided to do it all again!)  {Giveaway = one Dymo + tapes valued at $ 65.00 }

Majestic Castle Pack

Ricky Riots Crafts  are packs containing complete craft activities for little people – without all that preparation time for parents!  This newly released Ricky Riots Majestic Castle is available in stores from February. The kit contains everything the kids need for a crafting session, apart from the scissor and paint brushes, and are on sale now for $4.99.    Each pack should link up with a video tutorial on the Ricky Riot Site  (much like Mr Maker) for the kids to follow along with.  Unfortunately for us we couldn’t find the Majestic Castle tutorial (perhaps because we were sent it as an  early release) and the instruction on the back were a little brief for the kids to follow.  Despite this they had a ball and ended up with a pretty awesome castle that they were all very proud of.  The concept behind Ricky Riots is fabulous.  Ready made craft in a bag with a fun video tutorial.  Judging by the way my girls reacted I’d say it’s got the potential to be very big in the kids crafting world.  {Giveaway = 2 majestic castle packs value at $9.98}

I first came across the Chick-A-Dee smoke alarm on facebook and thought they were so cute and innovative I shared them around.  You have to love something that can make an ugly boring smoke detector a little more exciting!    They are a real talking point and perfect for kids rooms and nurseries.      We have ours in the girls playroom and I love the way it looks sitting up there watching all of the chatter and play (and maybe just a little TV).    Of course they are fully certified  and work too – meaning they are the perfect mix of style and safety.   If you’d like to have a little Chick-A-Dee at your place, or some more information, they’re available for $79.00  on the Chick-A-Dee  website.     {Giveaway = 1 Chick-A-Dee smoke alarm valued at $79.00)

Are  you a magic fan?  I must admit for me magic has to be pretty entertaining to catch my attention.  Cosentino’s new release DVD Are you a Believer  is pretty clever.  Cosentino rose to fame on Australia’s Got Talent in 2011 and now has become the face of a new generation of illusionist.  The DVD is a bit of  a journey thru some of his best illusions  with true modern theatrical presentation. It’s very watchable and great for one of those nights when there is nothing much worth watching on  TV.  Seriously TV programmers – how can you put so many repeats and so much re-hashed junk on your channels?   {Givaway = one copy valued at $24.95}

I would love to win the Zumba Fitness new release CORE program. I have been trying to lose weight on the Michelle Bridges TBT – and it is working, but I must admit, to spice up those abdominal workouts would be a blessing. I do find them rather tedious!!! These look like a great option.

Whether pulling rabbits from a hat,
Or making things disappear.
As a child I was obsessed with magic,
And it seems that love is still here.

I’d love the Cosentino dvd,
To help to reignite
My passion for the mysterious,
Mystifying, illusive and sleight!

Following you on FB, thanks so much for the chance at some great giveaways :)

I think the DYMO is just fabulous and I would love to own it! Here’s why:

1/ “Kiss me,” “Kick me” and “I love Justin Bieber” signs to stick on peoples’ backs would be so much fun with an instant labeller… For kids and “grown up kids” alike!
2/ No more fizzy, frothy and bitter stew as a result of mistaking the bicarbonate of soda for the cornflour! Even the dog wouldn’t touch that one.
3/ I’d love to stick funny labels on household items to give people a bit of a chuckle and brighten their day. For example, I’d label a lamp as a “portable sun” or a speaker system as a “magical sound box.” HOURS OF FUN!
4/ I was a weird kid who asked Mum for a labeller for my birthday every year from age 7-12. Unfortunately I was given toys instead. Lol. Winning a DYMO would mend my broken childhood heart.
5/ Of course, using a DYMO for regular organization would also be fantastic too! =)

Thanks for such a cool Feb giveaway! Love your work. =)

The Chick-A-Dee smoke alarm would be a superb support for this single mother of three. Our old wooden Queenslander with a pot belly stove poses many a fire risk for us. Our smoke alarms are cupboard bound just waiting for new batteries to be purchased by this busy Mum.

What a classy idea. I think it is a stunning little number
Im in dire need of a new alarm and I think this would look amazing
as well as being conversation piece.
Im sure people would be asking where I got it from…and I would be more than happy to tell them..:D

Weetbix for something old, something new and something that has never changed lol. Yes the no bake weetbix slice and I swear it was a iconic part of our diet. Everything from weetbix with butter and vegemite for afternoon snacks and even hiden in our risoles. Yes from weetbix soaked in par boiled water and fed to our infants, to on one occaision even sticking a science project together in primary school. I am sure if it could have been packaged in 1 of those sip and suck yogurt bags that you can purchase at the supermarket it would have also been thrown into the shopping trolley. I am sure weetbix are here to stay for more generations to come.

A year’s supply of Weet-Bix! My kids would go crazy. They want me to buy it every week but I’m really just too lazy. I know it’s tasty and healthy too, and more than just a filler, but is it true that if they eat too much cereal they could become a cereal killer?

My favourite is the Zumba core fitness. Both myself and my children have very poor muscle strength and suffer from bad posture so we would love to try it out.
It would look quite a sight though.
If you can paint a mental picture of a husband and wife with their 3 children all crammed into a very small lounge room, trying desperately to follow the exercises on the tv without smacking each other in the face, tripping over the furniture or stepping on the terrified cats tail…..
It might take a bit of time to master. But the Beal family would love to try if we were lucky enough to win a copy of Zumba core fitness :)
Thanks for the great give away.

My boys have recently commenced at a new daycare and the teachers sometimes get them mixed up. It doesn’t help that my youngest is named Kai, and there is already another Kai, a Kaya and a Ky there. I reckon if I labelled my kids items, then the teachers could just peek inside their lunchbox/shoe/hat etc to see exactly which kid it is who has been eating sand/feeding other kids their food/hiding behind the bookshelf ;o)

Since having children and currently being at home to look after my 2 youngsters, I haven’t been to a gym in over 2 1/2 years and my core definitely needs a workout. It would be a great way to get more exercise and keep the kids entertained at the same time.

Weetbix, such a tasty treat to eat
Full of fibre, niacin, Vitamin B
Loved by kids and adults alike
My 3 year old eats them riding her bike.

Add peanut butter, vegie or honey
We all buy them, they don’t cost a lot of money
Eaten by Iron Men and cricketers too
Just don’t eat them while you go to the loo!

A Dymo is a tremendous thing
To label things from books to bling
A necessity for a student family
Keeping tabs on all your school stationery.

My kids are forever losing their gear
It really makes me want to sneer
If I had a Dymo they would return
Back to their owners so they could continue to learn.

The Dymo could have many extra uses
Labelling lunchboxes, bottles containing orange juices
My toddler is forever running off
Maybe I could label her, the car, pig trough.

The Neutrogena Sunscreen tickles my fancy. Our firstborn has recently started school, and wrangling him, the 3 year old and the 6 month old in the mornings is proving challenging. Anything to make one of the jobs quicker is going to be a winner. In between breakfast, dressing, teeth, books, school bag, lunch, snacks, nappies – applying sunscreen is often the last job as I start hurrying them up. To be able to give their limbs & exposed skin a quick spray and instruct them to rub (ok, just the bigger 2 kids) is going to save me approximately 22 seconds – and believe me I need every one of them at the moment to get them out of the door by 8.15am!

Reply

67 Shayne D February 15, 2013 at 6:42 am

The Neutrogena sunscreen sounds like just the ticket for our summer holidays too. We have two weeks of being in the sun all day (first week at the lake, second week at the beach) and my top priority is not getting sunburnt! We smother the kids in sunscreen about a hundred times a day, even under their rash shirts LOL, just to be sure. To be able to apply it when they are wet would be fantastic.

Wetskin! Because its hard explaining to the seafood department at work that just because my kids are red like lobsters doesnt mean they are for sale for good profit. Though if they continue to not reapply sunscreen because they are ‘wet’ they might just be!

When all are eating there’s not a sound!
To win a year’s worth, Mum would let out a cheer
And kids all grinning from ear to ear!

Hi I like Zumba Fitness new release CORE as it sounds like a really good fun way to keep fit. I recently injured my knee ice skating with the kids and need some rehab at home and Zumba CORE looks perfect. It will be good for the kids to have another Wii addition that’s really energetic.

Cheers all the best

I would love to win the weetbix or sunscreen packs! My toddler adores weetbix and we go through it so quickly in our house, perfect for snacks too and so healthy! My daughter and I also always need a good quality sunscreen. She is so fair and burns easily, so we lather her up every day to protect her precious skin.
Love your site, and you always have such amazing giveaways too!

Oh it would have to be Zumba for me. You’ll actually be doing a pretty important public service by saving my local CWA hall which would be at risk of demolition from me slamming into fittings and fixtures if I had to leave the house and attend their actual Zumba class. I’m considering going, I really am. On your conscience be it ;)

kitchen -Label the Jars and food containers.
Refrigerator – label eatables on a First in First Out basis,
Kids Room – Label their Uniforms, shoes and gadgets.
Moreover i didn’t know you could buy fabric labels – I would label my sheets and linen cupboard. I am always mixing up my different sized sheets which drives me crazy when trying to make the beds or put clean linen away. DYMO will make my life very easy .

I struggle to get 5 minutes to myself. I am not a morning person so to get up early to exercise is out. I find gyms intimidating. I always tell myself I need to start walking again but just never get there. Maybe Zumba Fitness Core for WII would definitely improve my motivation. I like the thought of giggling, wiggling and jiggling around with Master 2 and Miss 14. What a fun way to spend some time with the kids and get some exercise…multitasking as mum’s always do.

I like to me in control and organising people is a skill of mine. That said I like to be the one in charge simple because things run better when I organise it myself!! How handy the DYMO would be for labelling things around the house. “People” would then know where or who things belonged to and I would be able to cease being Mrs Bossy Boots regarding putting things back where they belong etc.! On second thoughts I bet you don’t think it will work either – but it’s worth a try!

I would love to win the Weetbix prize, I need to lower my cholesterol, I’m lucky enough to be 38 and apparently my cholesterol count is very very high, I have six months to try and reduce it myself before the Dr puts me on tablets. I was advised that Weetbix would help absorb the cholesterol, so I would love to win this prize for my health. I would rather have Weetbix than cholesterol tablets!!!

Perfect too for a between meal snack
And even a late night hunger attack.
Good nutrition and a low price of course factors
But is the great taste in this family that matters.

It would be really hard to pass up a DYMO – I just love stationery, but, I hate being stationary.
I’ve been yearning for a good workout game for years (particularly wii Zumba), they are so much fun and can be done while the little ones nap. The problem is, we live in an old flat above a shop and every movement makes the floor shake. The one time I tried dancing in the living room I nearly had a bookcase fall on me! Since then I’ve been afraid of landing in the middle of the deli downstairs. However, we’re planning to move soon and FINALLY I can shake ‘n’ shimmy and all that will move will be my mummy-tummy!

I have three little Aussie Weet-Bix kids living in my house! They eat Weet-Bix for breakfast every morning (and sometimes as an afternoon snack too!) so this prize would be AMAZING. We normally have at least two boxes of Weet-Bix in our house at any one time – we always have the one we are using and another one ready to go because we can NEVER run out – EVER!

We love the fact that Weet-Bix is Australian Made – Australian Owned too. My 22 month old has learnt to say the word ‘Bix’ and it is so cute to hear her say ‘More Bix! More Bix!’…she hasn’t quite learnt to say ‘Can I have more Weet-Bix please Mum’ – but it won’t be long!
