On January 19th I’m heading off to the Ballarat Beer Festival - which just happens to be not to far up the country road from my place. I have images of myself sitting back with a cool beverage in hand chilling to the tones of The Beards, Gold Fields and the Royal Jelly Dixie Band. I can feel the relaxation setting in just thinking about it. Good food, good music and good company – nothing could be finer! But before I get too excited I should let you know I will actually be taking the kids (at least for a while) so they can explore and enjoy the train rides, jumping castle, face painting and a petting zoo. And then, just to make it all official I’ll be coming home to share the entire experience with you in pictures and words – just in case you can’t make it yourself. I know, it’s a tough job, but someone’s got to do it!
This all came about because I joined a new blogger program called Blogger Connect. Blogger Connect is the brainchild of online event listings site, Jedo, and the aim is to let bloggers like me discover some of the many amazing events across Australia, and then share my reviews and experiences of events with you. Jedo lets me know about events that are relevant to me, my blog and my readers. If I think the event is worth going to, I’ll check it out, write a review and then post it here so you can decide for yourselves if you want to go. I will only be attending and/or endorsing events that I’m interested in, so there’s no need to worry about reading posts on irrelevant events!
It’s a great concept. It often seems that I don’t discover the good events before it’s too late and I usually wish someone had told me about them. It’s easy to discover the big mainstream ones, but what about the smaller ones? To save you the anguish of missing out I’ll find out about the ones that I’m interested in, and then share them with you. The Ballarat Beer Festival is the first on my list to review – and frankly I’m really looking forward to enjoying the experience and to sharing it with you.
