All right then, this is one of those ‘get real’ moments in life. I am the mother of three deliciously adorable young girls and as a result my tummy no longer remotely resembles what it did ten years ago. Now I’ve never been a stick thin ”twiggy” kinda of girl (well apart from in my dreams) but despite my hourglass curves I always had a small flat tummy – well that was until this happened…….
This is me at 33+ weeks pregnant with my littlest pink. Yes I still had seven more weeks to survive and to top it off it was the boiling hot summer of 2008 when we topped 46 degrees more than once. I remember looking at the forecast and literally crying. Anyhoo, living in the above condition is not recommended for the tummy proud. And as a result these days my tummy looks more like this ……………
Yes that’s my overstretched jelly belly! Now, don’t think for one minute I’m not proud of the job it’s done. Because I am ridiculously thankful for what it has given me. But I’m just not ready to give up on looking good as well. I’ve posted a bit lately about my new battle with hypothyroidism and the fact that I truly don’t mind my body being a size 16-18 - but I really do like seeing a nice silhouette when I look in the mirror. The jelly belly detracts a wee bit from that – bless its baby incubating heart. So sometimes it’s nice to be able to disguise it - and feel a little bit more like pre-baby me.
I had to smile to myself when I was asked to review Yummie by Heather Thomson. I love the way this blog so often attracts just what I need. (Be it friendship, ideas, wisdom or great products.) And Yummie Tummie is just what this mummy needed to help out with her jelly belly. I’ve tried department store shape-wear before, but to be honest I’ve struggled to find anything that felt good to wear. What’s the point in looking better if you have to feel uncomfortable to achieve it? (Left that stage behind, along with stilettos, in my teenage years.) And that is the very best thing about Yummie Tummie - it feels great on as well as making you look good. Here – check me out and see what you think………….
Not so shabby if I do say so myself. If you’re interested in finding out more and seeing their full range check out Yummie Tummie’s wesbite or facebook page. My jelly belly says thank-you Yummie for making this Mummy feel just a little bit better about all things tummy

Wow – you look great! My tummy is where I hold all my weight and I’m self-conscious about it. I love how the tank holds it in!

That looks really nice – I’ve also got the mixture of baby belly and hypothyroidism and wouldn’t mind something that flatters the belly every now and again
