Do you love good quality linen? {+ $120 I love linen store credit giveaway} Congratulations Toni.

by Caz on July 17, 2012 · 317 comments

I am a bit of a touchy feely kinda gal – both emotionally and physically.   And one of the things I love to feel is great quality linen.  Nothing like slipping into a bed made with high quality sheets  - or snuggling up in a soft warm blanket on a cold evening.   Comforting, delicious and frankly just makes me happy.  Yep, I love linen – especially the good stuff.   So today I’m sharing with you a place I’ve found where you can stock up on fabulously good quality linen  for really good prices – coz some things are so good they need to be shared.

I love linen is a family  run business that still believes in great service.   Beautiful products that arrive wrapped to perfection in brown paper packages tied up with string.  You just can’t argue with that kind of services.   Seriously, if you’re in the market for linen for your bedroom, bathroom, kitchen or new bubs – you should check them out.

The lovely people at I love Linen are giving away a $120 store credit to one super lucky The Truth About Mummy reader. Need a new set of 1000 count sheets?  Or maybe some soft new cotton towels – well this could be just what you’re looking for. You can check them out on their website or on the facebook page to see what you could spend it on.  To enter just follow these simple steps:

  1. Leave a comment below telling me something out of the ordinary that just makes you happy.
  2. If you are nice enough to share this giveaway on facebook or twitter please feel free to leave a second entry comment.
  3. Follow The Truth About Mummy in any way you like (facebook, twitter, email or reader feed)
  • Giveaway is open until Midnight on the 30th of July and has a total value of $120.
  • (Check the T&C tab for full T&C).
  • Disclaimer: All opinions are my own.  I received a beautiful set of sheets from I Love Linen to test drive for this post.
If you love a good giveaway please check the Review and Giveaway Tab above for others that are still open for entry :)

When the house is clean,
And no mess mess to be seen.
When there’s silence it’s heaven,
Especially if it’s before seven.
To lay on crisp sheets and a freshly made bed,
Reading a book in peace is better than sliced bread.

I stress a little too much about some of the ‘bad’ kids at my children’s school, and I do worry a lot about it, some would say too much. Last week we walked in the gate, and my 5 year old son took the hand of his favourite classmate and they quietly walked ahead of us, not even talking to each other, just holding hands. Then my 6 year old daughter spotted her friends and they huddled around her as she showed them the bag of mandarins (picked from our tree) that she had brought in for the class to enjoy. Two classic moments in a row, and they were such a tonic to me.

The thing that has always made me happy and transports me back to my childhood, is opening a new box of Derwent coloured pencils. They were very expensive back then so getting a new box was cause for great excitement. I loved the metal tin and the smell wafting out as you opened the tin and even seeing all the colour smudges on the backing tissue. Bliss! Catching sight of my daughter works too!

My cat, “kitten” always jumps up on the bed and puts a paw on me first to say “I want attention – pat me” except this morning my daughter was home sick and lying on my bed with me. Kitten obviously just thought she was part of the furniture and came bounding up and put a paw on her head! When my daughter moved – Kitten got the fright of her life hahaha.

what makes me happy is when you know you have done good by teaching your children to care for others.my son came home last night as he was in Melbourne city with some friends he seen a homeless man begging for money we always taught him to give as it might happen to us or you one day so he gave the man the last of his money he got the train home and could go no further so he walked im so happy as a mum to see my eldest learnt from the things we showed him this makes me smile ear to ear

What makes me happy is the smell of a new book! Yes, I know, weird, but they do smell good. The pages are crisp and the spine tight. The pages all sit so nicely on top of one another and no body has read a word from it. There’s something about being the first one to open the cover, bend the spine and start reading a new book page by page that I find quite naughty, well until I get to the end!!!

When I see a couple happily walking down the street, holding hands and laughing. And I smile even more if they’re seniors :)

When my 15 year old teenage son, randomly gives me a cuddle for no reason. Usually it’s ‘uncool’ to display such affection amongst his peers. So a random cuddle always makes my day special.

I love freshly washed sheets, if I could I would have fresh sheets on my bed every day. I love it when I get a chance to go away and the sheets are changed every day. I love the feel of the freshness of recently washed sheets.
