The Gastro Bug smacked me – and it hurt.

Yuck!

A post about Gastro.

D.I.S.C.U.S.T.I.N.G

Sorry but it gives me something to do while I sit here  with the kids alternating between cold shivers and hot sweats and  waiting for the inevitable.  The Bug moved in the  weekend before last and has been systematically working its way through us all.  Now it’s mummy’s turn.  You all know there is no room for sickness in a mums life.  I am indispensable and pretty much have to keep on keeping on.  I reposted a picture of Dory on my facebook page this morning saying ‘Just Keep Swimming’ and that is what I, and pretty much any other mum, has to do in these situations.

And so are the parenting days of our lives!

So, do you have any tips for me?  Share your mum secrets for coping when you’re sick.  Please.  Right now I need them.  Especially until the husband man get’s home from work in a few hours.

Oh Caz, I hope you will recover soon on your sickness. You can let your kids watch educative movies. When I am sick and I need some rest, I just let kids to watch educative animation movies and its useful.

Oh hun, I am so sorry you are unwell, it sucks big time. I too and holed up in bed at the moment with the flu. The fever and everything type. Damn those horrid bugs infecting us. I have no advice, but rest if you can. I have handed all duties over to hubby and I am officially on strike until I feel a little more human. Take care lovely and I hope you are on the mend soon. xxx

You poor thing, Caz. That is so tough. Just take it easy and fill up with lots of liquids. Craft areas make a heck of a mess, but as long as it keeps the girls occupied. xx

Oh Caz! This is horrid. We’ve just been through this, too. Although, we all went down at the same time. I didn’t love being ill myself while cleaning up after everyone else. Unfortunately, I really have no tips either as I was so completely out of it that I was barely there! Thinking of you!

Oh poor Caz, so sorry to hear you’ve been so crook. Gastro absolutely sucks, I dread it! The only thing I can suggest is plenty of Tv, puzzles and reading to occupy the little ones… and lots of couch time with nice soft pillows for you. Get better soon xoxo

Thanks Julie, the couch is looking mighty comfy about now :) To be honest I’ve already been back to bed for 2 hours today. The house is a total mess – but I’ll just have to cope and let that one go until tomorrow.

Oh Caz, how I feel for you. I had a terrible cold two weeks ago and still had to look after an extremely busy toddler. By the end of the day I was just lying on the couch with no energy left and my little one was covering me with lots of blankets. Literally, I could not move. But that passed and I felt better the next day! Thinking of you and take care…

Thank you Darya :) Let’s hope this all passes soon. Hate being sick. Not fun at all. Kids are however all feeling much better. So that is reason for celebration. No sicky sheets to wash today!!!!!

Oh no Caz! I hope you all made it through the day! My tip would be to pull out your dry biscuits/ snacks and make drink bottles up for everyone, which are not to be shared. Leave out where everyone can help themselves, then make yourself comfy and move as little as possible. hope it passes quickly.

Oh dear Caz, the gastro bug is horrible when it hits your house hard. Expecially when Mummy comes down with it.

Thinking of you hun. Our saviour has been the hydralyte icypoles at the chemist. Perfect for fatigued, dehydrate little people. (and big ones too)

Hope you are on the mend fast. xxoxox

Thanks Kellie :) I’m going to be better tomorrow – I’ve decided! The kids are all on the mend. Kept one home today but she’s playing and dancing – always a good sign :)

Aaaah, the joys of TV parenting & computer games…. what would a sick Mum do without them?…. to keep the kids entertained so that we can lie (lifeless) on the couch with one eye peeking at the clock counting the minutes till kiddie bedtime!

So true Kerrin, I hate that they had so much screen time yesterday but what can you do!

Oh no! We had a few weeks back :( No tips/hints but take it easy. We do use lemon juice squeezed into water whenever one of us are not feeling 100% – it works fast!
