I accidentally went in to my bank when it was Cancer Council charity month and they were selling the Daffodil Pens, which I buy every year. This time I grabbed one and then at the same time I was opening another account and I had to sign the paperwork, so I signed away and then automatically placed the pen into my bag, this is something I always do (with my own pens). I didn’t even realise until a few days later and I felt so bad.
NAB have a big bowl of pens at the tables where the withdrawal and deposit slips are. There is a note on the front to “please take one” so I do every time I go in. Thank you NAB. You charge me $5 per month in account keeping fees so really I’m just buying a couple of pens each month for $2.50 each.
mmm well i seem to acquire pens too – mostly without realising but some kind of deliberate (oops). My “worst” would be when i was in primary school i used to do dares with my sister and “take” stuff and i got busted stealing a pacer pencil from a newsagent – i mean seriously it was only a pacer pencil but oh it was a good lesson. I was sooo scared and my parents got told and let me tell u i never did that again. In my last job (pre-stay home mummy) i managed to occassionally bring home pens (accidently of course) from work – i have to admit i never did return them and finally i am now needing new pens as all my pens are on their last legs/ink (pls pls pick me lol )
I was involved in an accident a couple of years ago and had to go to the police station to give and receive information ( no, I was not at fault). I had to fill in my information in then went home only to discover I had still had the policeman’s pen. I was too worried to take it back in case Iwas charged with theft, then thought I could be charged with being in possession of stolen property so I left it down the street at the local supermarket so I could sleep at night! (I made sure I had wiped my fingerprints off it first)
I tweeted and Fb’d. Also, I would love to be paid in pens *sigh*

I love stationary. Love it. Give me stationary and I’m a happy girl. Recently, my mum had a minor car accident and I had to take her to the police station to file a report (you so know where this is going, don’t you!), she wasn’t all that with it, so I did some filling out of details and the next time I needed a pen I pulled out one with the local police station’s number on it… Whoops.

I used to work in a major hospital and we always used to raid the “drug pens” after a drug company rep had been. So I stole a handful of viagra pens. Of course!

Okay, don’t judge me, but I have EIGHTEEN RSPCA PENS. I have no idea how this happened, and I would almost certainly return them except that they are actually really great pens. I could give them the Inkjoy pens though?

Nicking a pen from a Wedding guest book, its just a habit.
I have never stolen a pen but love adding to my collection of pens
Stationery makes me drool, and it’s a love I’ve had since I was tiny! I accidentally took a highlighter that turned out to belong to my teacher in Kindergarten, and was too scared to take it back in case the police got involved!!!!! Clearly I thought other people took stationery as seriously as I did
I just tweeted as well
I have accidentally picked up pens from all sorts of people- the kindy, school, even my midwife- I can’t say I have taken one from anywhere too funny though!
I am a confessed stationary tragic and all my items are never “accidentally” stolen
The funniest was when I scored a pen from the doctors clinic and after being home for a few days was rather taken unaware when my sister said “omg that’s been handled by heaps of sick people with nasty germs”
hmmm never looked at it that way
I am a pen hamster. Shiny, colourful, glittery pens are my favourite. We have a strickt black pen only rule at work, I’m forced to test doodle every pen in the stationary cupboard and stash all the fluid, non blotchy ones in my desk. It’s a disease.
Had to go and see my local member about an issue to do with the redevelopment of a much loved open space.
I was quite nervous and had to fill in a form with my details.
I forgot to take a pen so she lent me hers.
Ahem, somehow I ended up with her lovely engraved pen.
Now I’m stealing myself to return it as I’m dreading someone calling me her name after seeing the beautiful inscription on the pen!
Hi Leanne, can’t go past your pen story!! You’re a winner and will get some lovely InkJoy pens in the mail. Can you email me an address to have them sent out to? thetruthaboutmummy@gmail.com Thanks so much for entering and I hope you love them as much as I do. Caz
Every time I go to bank,
They have a stack.
Pay the rent,
Walk out with pen.
Told teller “I will steal one”,
She replied, “So does everyone”
the doctors pen! after giving birth I somehow ended up with his pen

I love love love stationery…and probably do not need anymore pens. My daughter also steals all of my nice pens!!!
I am that bad at stealing pens I have to carry my own to sign transactions at the shop…it is very embarrassing when I automatically put the pen in my bag then have to fish around trying to retrieve it when the assistant asks for it back.
I love colourful pens.
I am a pen thief, but my 8 yr old daughter is worse, or maybe she just knows half my pens are stolen/borrowed so she doesn’t mind helping her self to my stash.
Awesome giveaway!

I’m not so much about accidentally stealing pens, as I am about accidentally catapulting them across rooms by having them hang a little over the edge of the table and then putting my arm/hand on them. It’s surprisingly effective and very startling, both to me and my unsuspecting victims. I hit my partner in the head not long ago and once nearly hit a tutor at uni out the front of the class.

Im mad for stationery as well. I think it’s generic as my Cappers is showing early signs of addiction! x
Accidently from my clients! I am forever keeping an eye on them when they borrow my pen to complete any paperwork, but it seems once (or twice!) I may have been a little less eagle I when it was I that was borrowing…
I accidentally steal them from everywhere. Cos I use a pen and have one in my pocket for my work, it’s habit as soon as I finish with a pen to put it in my pocket…. I love stationery too xx My first ever job was when I worked at a printing and stationery company, only I didn’t get paid too much because I always bought too much. I think I still have some of it 20 years later LOL

The funniest place I’ve accidently stolen a pen was from a job interview I went to!
What made it worse is that I realised that she would have seen me pocket it, I guess thats why I didn’t get the job, lol
I often pick up pens at my work in a maternity ward. Lots of different pharmaceutical pens. My favorite was the Viagra pen. I wish I could tell you it had some funny pop up attachment on it, but no. It just said Viagra.
Finally, someone as obsessed with ink as I!
I’m not sure if there is a standout strange stealing episode of desired inks, but I do recall getting very cranky if my beloved pens “would grow legs” when I was at work! I was tres particular with what I’d write with, so would be a bit stroppy if I had to use just any ol thing – still am like that, even at home!

Hmm… I don’t steal pens but my seven old son steals all my very favourite ones. We have arguments over whether he has my pens or not- he always does! He does love pen and stationery as much as me, we may have a drawer like yours. Can never have too many pens I say.

I stole a pen from the pocket of a guy sleeping next to me on an airplane once. Okay, I did not do that… but my only pen stealing was so unintentional that I can’t even remember when it would’ve happened!
Fun giveaway though!

Like everyone else here I love stationery and pens (do you think this could be the start of Stationery-aholics Anonymous?). Now I won’t ever admit to stealing a pen (you can’t prove a thing), however my love of pens and stationery has been passed on to my 6yo daughter and I believe she could be the greatest pen thief ever! She has taken over our back room coffee table and it is covered with pens, paper, pencils, stickers, scissors and whatever else she finds lying around that takes her fancy. Whenever I can’t find something, the coffee table is the first place I look and I usually find what I am missing. Posted on Facebook
I have trained my husband up well to ‘accidently’ take the pens, stationary, shampoo… from all of the hotel rooms he stays at with work. It took a lot of training as it was really against his instincts. He made me proud last week, when I heard him on the phone to a hotel explaining that he had accidently collected their menus, books, magazines when he packed his own paperwork up! I am still enjoying reminding him that, ‘that was a bit low!’.
I don’t seem to take them, but people always seem to be stealing my favourite pens at work. I get so distracted that I waste half the day looking for my stolen pen!
I was recently on uni placement in a hospital. I had my own pen clipped to my shirt, but forgot about it. Each time I found a pen I bought it was mine. I then took to putting them in my ponytail as it was easier to access. I went home one of the days with 4. I don’t know how, everyone could see them.

My daughter gets excited when we stay at Motels and always asks if they will have some free pens for her to keep
Back in my school days we took some paperwork into the Principal to get signed for reasons that escape me now, and when I got home that afternoon his lovely pen was in my pocket. Now fancy that! And no, I did not confess or bring it back when he asked during assembly if anybody had seen it
Would you believe I accidentally stole the gorgeous fountain pen from our marriage celebrant on our big day!! Some how I had it held tight alongside my bouquet, not realizing until we reached the reception.

When I worked in a bank, I found a gorgeous pen in the staff carpark and kept it. I kept my mouth shut when the manager used it and commented he used to have one just the same!
I accidentally borrowed a pen from the Latvian President’s office in 2007 when we were touring his presidential palace. I asked him to borrow a pen from his desk while we were photographing and then before I knew it I was leaving with the pen still in my hand. It now takes pride and joy in my stationary drawer.

My husband came home from working late one night and he came in with a gorgeous looking pen that wrote so smoothly. I asked him where he got it from, as you do, and he told me the cabbie gave it to him. Now I say, how chummy can you get with a cab driver that he ends up giving you his pen, and what could they have been talking about in the first place??? Hmmm
I ended up with a Gynos pen, at least it must have come from their offices somewhere in the US no idea how i got that as i’ve never left Aus.
Good nurse always has a pen or two especially collected from around the wards, pharmacy, clients that jump into your pocket, behind your ear.A good writing pen that works ensures maximum care to all
Well, I have about six stubby Ikea pencils at home – how did that happen?
My home & handbags & car are full of pens that I did not steal. Seriously, as I have no recollection of where they all come from, I blame the fairies. I don’t mind. I love being able to put on hand on a pen at will. When out & about too – maybe!!
It was recently…at a Tourism expo. You were supposed to play a game to win a pen. I never realised, as I was walking away with the pen from a wonderful hotel I over heard the guys behind the counter say “to have a pen, you need to play the game. Take out a stick but dont let the ball fall”….I walked away faster holding onto that pen!

Oh, I LOVE stationary!
This is not where I stole it from, but the fact that in Grade 6 my friend and I went around everyone’s pencil cases and stole the best things out of each while everyone was out doing PE! I have no idea how we got away with that!!!
I once wrote with a beautiful pen at a melbourne show stall and I commented how pretty the pen was and how beautiful it wrote and i turned around to shush the child as you do and later found the pen in my bag with a note saying you seemed so excited by this pen I thought you should keep it. What a beautiful stall holder!!!

I accidentally stole a pen from a bank. A BANK !! Makes me wonder how good the security is surrounding my money ???
I’m thinking hard and can’t think of any occassion of pen-stealing – might have something to do with the fact that I always have at least FIVE of this inkjoy pens in my bag at any one time (one in each colour, and two purple ones), because I love them so much!

I was in one of those fancy pen shops years ago (I won’t tell you the name of it) looking for a 21st birthday present. The good salesman had shown me a few suitable pens but I still felt I wanted to look around elsewhere to make sure I was getting the best deal. I asked if I could write the model numbers and prices down and he gave me a “very” nice pen and a business card to record the information. I wrote it all down and then without even thinking placed both the card and the pen into my handbag and left the shop.
Days later I was fiddling around in my bag for a pen and discovered the “very” nice pen and couldn’t figure out how I had acquired it. It bugged me all day until I finally put the pieces together. Being an honest person I returned to the store to hand the pen in and explain what had happened, I also purchased a pen for the 21st and the kind salesman insisted I keep the pen I had “acquired” as he had a new one anyway!

Hi I’m Ann and I’m a stationary-aholic.
Pens I adore and your drawer I could probably fill with all my pens.
shh
I take the kids to any of the free expo thingys for jobs and uni courses and other ones because they give away free pens etc. I set each kid up with a bag from the first place that gives one away and off they go collecting. shhhhh
Probably explains my kids love of stationary. hhmmm

I love pens (I even have a daughter named Penni! Its true!)
The most unusual place I’ve ever stolen a pen from was from Moby (the singer’s) hotel room. (Also true!)
I had won a competition through a radio promotion for his album ‘Hotel’, and the prize was a stay at the same hotel room Moby stayed at – WITHOUT it being cleaned! So, in other words, as soon as he checked out, we checked in. (We got to see what he drank, ate, where he slept, etc, before the cleaners came in and made it more comfortable for our stay).
So my husband and I showed up, and found that he’d left us a signed bath robe, amongst other items; and I stole the pen ‘accidentally’ before the cleaners came to clean the room!!
Mmmm stationary!!!
I’ve accidently ‘stolen’ a pen from the police station before!!! I went to get my police clearance done and used their pens and found it in my bag a week later… OPPPS!

It reminds me on my childhood days were I used to collect stationary papers and colorful pens and pencils. Lots of fun!
I don’t think I’ve ever stolen a pen… But I just bought a whole lot of them and they are as colourful as yours. And some with glitter, too. And by the way I can’t write in a straight line either, isn’t it great they make notebooks with lines that are already in them?

Hehehe – I know. I have NEVER been able to Tat. Your pens sound awesome too. I wish I could say I’ve never stolen a pen. I seem to collect them without ever realising. I just look in the bottom of my bag and Voila – a collection. My subconscious obviously loves pens too.
